Research Area: The governance of the Yellow River

Research Exprience:

Jinliang Zhang has been engaged in sediment research for more than 30 years and has carried out continuous and in-depth research around the Yellow River governance. In the case of super high sand content of the sandy reservoir, he innovated the technology and methods of sediment treatment, improved and developed the technical system of sediment management for the flood of the sandy river, and accumulated rich practical experience in the joint regulation of the Yellow River and sediment, the management of the flood and sediment, and the design of the discharge and sediment discharge of water conservancy and hydropower projects. In charge of the four prototype tests of the Yellow River water regulation and sand control, the application method of Sanmenxia reservoir, Make use of and optimize the snow flood scour to reduce the Tongguan elevation, and the dredging of the xiaobei main stream of the Yellow River. Many of his research achievements have been applied in the production practice of Yellow River governance and development and management, and have achieved remarkable social and economic benefits. He proposed three models of water diversion and sediment regulation for the Yellow River, which guided the actual operation of the Yellow River water diversion and sediment regulation for 19 times up to now. He was awarded the honorary title of "advanced individual for the third water diversion and sediment regulation test of the Yellow River", and was appraised as " Ten outstanding young people of the Yellow Council " and "top-notch talent in the science and technology of treating the Yellow River", enjoying the special allowance of the government of the state council. He has published over 60 papers, 6 monographs and 13 patents, including 4 invention patents. He once won the first prize of national science and technology progress award, the first prize of national excellent engineering consultation achievement award, the second prize of Henan province science and technology progress award, the second prize of Dayu water conservancy science and technology award, the yellow committee science and technology progress award, innovation achievement award and so on.
